Property Management in Mayfair

Mayfair is an affluent area in the West End of London charactorised by elegant Georgian townhouses, exclusive hotels, and gourmet restaurants. Mayfair is one of the most prized addresses in the capital and universally known for occupying the priciest spot on Monopoly boards.

LOCATION AND LEGACY

Mayfair was originally a rural village surrounded by farmlands, known for the annual two week ‘May Fair’ for which the district’s name originates. The Grosvenor family acquired the land and began to develop it. By the end of the 18th century, most of Mayfair had been rebuilt with high-value housing for the upper classes.

Mayfair is located in the West End within the borough of the City of Westminster. Bordered by Hyde Park to the west, Oxford Street to the north, Piccadilly and Green Park to the south and Regent Street to the east.

MAYFAIR TODAY

As the capital’s most sought-after and aspirational neighbourhood, the borough is studded with Michelin-star restaurants, private member’s clubs, top-tier hotels and swanky bars, attracting the super-wealthy. Mayfair is also an epicentre of global luxury brands and bespoke tailors on Savile Row.

The Property Landscape

With Mayfair placed at the centre of London surrounded by the bustle of city life there is high demand from those looking for great investment opportunities or those who desire somewhere central to live. Mayfair comprises some of the most famous residential addresses in London, including Park Lane, Curzon Street, Berkeley Square, Hanover Square and Grosvenor Square.

Mayfair now presents a quaint mix of mews houses, exclusive apartments and Georgian townhouses. Of these, the majority are owned rather than rented. But we still see plenty of private rental opportunities in the area.

Tenant demand continues to outweigh available rental stock across prime London particularly at the lower end of the rental market.

THE IDEAL PLACE TO RENT

While most residents in Mayfair own their own homes, renting is still an option in this exclusive neighbourhood. Studio flats start at around £500 p/w. two or three bed properties see prices between £1500 and £3500 p/w.

Few areas in London are better placed to take full advantage of green parks, luxury shopping, world class restaurants, art and culture. Mayfair is also extremely well-connected. The district has five underground tube stations.
