National Apprentice Week

MIH is a great believer in offering apprenticeships and a welcome doorway into the Property Management sector for young people and up-and-coming talent.

In this article, Mark, from Smart Training & Recruitment, interviews both new apprentice, Olivia and MIH Director, Candice to give an insight into the apprentice process.

CANDICE FISHER, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS & HR

FINDING NEW TALENT

MIH has worked with Mark and Helen at Smart Training & Recruitment for several years now and we find that this process helps us to source suitable candidates to feed into our Property Management training programme.

This gives us the opportunity to introduce people who are completely new to the business so that we can train them in the MIH way.” says Candice.

In return, the new trainees can develop the skills to become competent property managers, with future career options. In the words of Olivia:-

All of the property managers take time out of their day to help me. They want me to progress…”

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT

Our apprentices have benefitted from learning on the job in a supportive and structured environment. Going forward, some have taken the skills learned from working in administration in a busy office into other areas, opening up a variety of career paths. And for some, the Property Management hat is a very good fit and they stay with us to continue training, with the aim of moving up into more senior roles.

Thanks to Mark at Smart Training and Recruitment
